Accounting

Accounting systems in a business environment can be quite complex and we find that the majority of issues that businesses face with regard to bookkeeping and accounting arise from poorly implemented or poorly maintained accounting systems.

Much of what we do as accountants involves reviewing business accounting systems to correct errors, discover exclusions, and bring accounting practices up to current standards. It’s at least as valuable as any other service we offer.

In fact, it is highly recommended that businesses take advantage of our accounting services prior to engaging us in other services such as tax preparation, financial advisory, and preparing financial statements as it ensures that  we are working with accurate data.

Your accounting system is as important to your business as your computer system is. Here’s why: https://garykrupacpa.com/your-accounting-system

With smart, well-thought-out financial planning we can help you lower your tax liability year over year. We can counsel you on investments, charitable donations, business expenditures, and more.

We offer tax return preparation and planning services for the following:

financial audits

Financial Audits

A financial audit provides reasonable assurance that your organization’s financial statements are free of material misstatement. It also assures that the financial statements are presented in conformity with professional accounting standards, or generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), i.e. those that have been established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). We’d have to be independent of your organization to perform an audit.

An audit puts you in a better position to obtain additional capital funding or loan financing. In addition, a professional audit gives you a clear view of your organization’s current financial state.

In addition to audits, we also provide financial reviews,  compilation services, and other attest services.

Reviews

A review is not as extensive as an audit, which involves observation, testing, and confirmation of accounting balances. The objective of the review is to determine whether the data presented in the statements make sense. As with an audit, we’d have to be independent of your organization to perform a review.

Compilations

A compilation offers no assurance that the financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP or any other basis of accounting.  We’d simply prepare financial statements that report your data in a format that complies with GAAP. We’d perform no analysis of your financial data unless we become aware that it’s incorrect or incomplete.

Custom Attest Services

We would agree on specific procedures we’d perform on designated subject matter, and we’d issue a report of findings based on the procedures performed. We wouldn’t be performing an examination or review. However, we’d need to be independent of your organization.

Growing a business requires smart financial planning and the ability to recognize opportunities that can take your business to the next level. We can help you with:

  • Recognizing areas for growth by providing insights on cash flow patterns, inventory management, pricing, and financing alternatives.
  • Advising on property and equipment leasing and purchase options.
  • Avoiding IRS audits and guide you through an audit if necessary.
  • Guidance on acquisition and mergers.
  • Financial forecasts to allow for more informed decision-making.
  • Budgets to help you achieve business goals.
  • Valuation and sale of your business.
  •
financial statements

Financial Statements

Financial statements provide an overview of financial performance, current financial position, and cash flow analysis. They are used by the investment community, lenders, creditors, potential partners, individuals, and businesses to evaluate financial well-being.

Financial statements are the very basis for sound business and individual financial decision-making. Properly prepared financial statements allow you to better understand your financial circumstances, can aid in capital funding, bank loans, retirement planning, and personal wealth management.

Some of the financial statements that we prepare for businesses and individuals are:

  • Income Statements – This report shows financial performance for a given reporting period. It calculates total income minus total expenditures to arrive at a net income or net profit amount. This report may also include earnings per share for publicly held companies.
  • Balance Sheets – The balance sheet shows the financial state of a company or individual at a given point in time. It lists assets, liabilities, and equity and is a key financial document that is included with most financial statements.
  • Cash Flow Statements – This report reveals inflows and outflows of cash for an individual or organization during a designated period of time. For organizations, cash flows are generally classified as operating activities, investing activities, and financing activities.
  • Statements of Changes in Equity – This report documents all changes in equity during a given time period. Changes in equity might include the issuance or sale of shares, dividends issued, and profits and losses.
  •

Gary Krupa, CPA can prepare financial statements in tabular format (i.e. Microsoft Excel) or in presentation format, i.e. Microsoft Powerpoint. We can prepare a custom slide show featuring your projected or actual financial results and present your financial reports to potential investors, donors, grantmakers, and members of the community.
